In this blog I will share more about the importance of having a business coach and how they can support you to achieving the success in your life that you want.
One of the main benefits is that you can’t easily see your own patterns and blindspots – a coach helps you to collapse the time to where you want to go by noticing these and helping you develop the tools and skills to grow personally and professionally.
A coach is probably one of the best investments you can ever make in yourself. Investing in you is a sure thing and worth every penny. After all, the better it gets, the better it gets!
As a business coach, I love working on mindset (this is the foundation for success) as business is 90% mindset as well as business strategy, marketing and sales and operations. Those are my favourite parts of business! Not say that numbers are not important – they too, tell a compelling story!
Having a business coach can be incredibly beneficial if you are looking to achieve success in your personal and professional life. A coach can provide valuable insights, feedback, and guidance that can help identify and overcome obstacles, develop effective strategies, and make informed decisions. By working with a coach, you can gain a deeper understanding of your strengths and weaknesses, set meaningful goals, and take purposeful action towards achieving success. A business coach can also help you develop your leadership skills, build a supportive network, and stay motivated and focused on your objectives.
Coaches uses many different tools and frameworks to help their clients. I have been certified in a number of different coaching programs that have tools that I use to support my clients.
Tools such as:
- Active listening: asking open-ended questions, reflecting back what the client has said, and showing empathy and support.
- Visualization and affirmation: these techniques help clients create a positive mindset and visualize their success. This may involve guiding clients through visualization exercises or encouraging them to create affirmations that support their goals.
- Routine or Intentional selfcare praticses. These help clients to become present to their lives, inentionally embody what it is they what they want to achieve and to build care into their lives. Self care such as meditation, movement, reading etc.
- Action planning: Coaches help clients create a plan of action to achieve their goals. This may involve identifying obstacles and creating strategies to overcome them, as well as setting deadlines and holding clients accountable.
- Accountability: Coaches help clients stay accountable to their goals by setting regular check-ins and providing support and encouragement. They may also provide tools and resources to help clients stay on track.
The frameworks that I have used include:
- The GROW model helps clients set goals, identify obstacles, and develop strategies to achieve their goals. GROW stands for Goal, Reality, Options, and Will.
- SMART Goals: an acronym that stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. Coaches use this framework to help clients set goals that are clear, specific, and achievable within a specific timeframe.
- Wheel of Life: a coaching framework that helps clients assess their overall life satisfaction across various areas such as career, relationships, health, and personal growth. This framework helps clients identify areas where they may need to focus more attention and energy.
- Solution-Focused Coaching: a goal-oriented approach that focuses on identifying solutions rather than problems. Coaches using this framework help clients identify what’s working and what needs to change, and then create action plans to achieve their desired outcomes.
- Positive Psychology Coaching: is a coaching framework that focuses on building strengths and enhancing well-being. Coaches using this framework help clients identify and leverage their strengths, and develop a positive mindset to achieve their goals.
When meeting with a client for the first time, I like to get a sense of what it is that they would like to work on, or what the problems or goals are. From there we build an action plan.
For the first few sessions (4 – 7) we are working through learning and cementing the new behaviours and habits that my clients would like to adopt. Through these sessions we uncover limiting beliefs, habits, patterns of thinking and feeling and work through those as well. I also delve into my favourite topics of neuroscience and how to hack our brains for success. Training our brains is the game changer!
As our coaching relationship develops my clients have new and bigger goals, new limiting beliefs that come up, life situations that arise and business problems to solve.
Once a good routine is established and my clients start to see their results we dig deeper into enhancing their leadership skills for themselves and others. Here, we often uncover more limiting beliefs (we have 1000’s!) and work through those.
I provide book recommendations, apps, meditations, visualizations, affirmations and create frameworks for my clients to use.
I also work through a process called Clearing Beliefs, a magical process I was trained in to help my clients clear those beliefs that are holding them back from what they dream of having. Some of the beliefs they are not even aware of that are holding them back.
These beliefs, thoughts and feelings will hold us back from success in business even though we don’t realize it. If you remember as a kid, your mom may have said “Don’t talk to strangers!” no wonder sales or business development feels icky to you!
My goal is for a client not to need me forever. I want to impart knowledge, tools, skills, frameworks and routines for their lives so that they can continue to find joy in their everyday lives, grow their businesses and thoroughly participate in the beauty of life!
Many clients move onto monthly, quarterly and bi-annual coaching sessions and those sessions are so rewarding to see the progress and changes they have made and the success they continue to see in their lives and businesses. Some will re-engage to more frequent sessions.
I too, have my own coaches and go through at least one coaching program per year. I am always working on growing myself, my skills, understanding my patterns, habits or limiting beliefs and working through them. As I get better and better, I can share with my clients.
I am on a mission to show, teach, help others learn that hacking their brains, learning about mindset and putting these into practise is what transforms your life. We are here to do big things! It’s time to stop bumping along the bottom of life and reach for the stars! I love to add in real lived business and life experience, a little bit of spiritual magic and tons of mindset tools.
Invest in yourself, you won’t be sorry. It’s never money wasted. Your happiness, health and abundance is your birthright.
